Education Department
Our goal is to help First Nation people of all ages to achieve their
personal career goals through improved access to employment and training
initiatives.
Our role is to support any educational initiatives that result in school
improvements and that positively impact on the quality of education provided
for students. Supporting the local education authorities, and networking
with Aboriginal organizations, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, the
Provincial Ministry of Education, School Boards, and Post Secondary and
Secondary/ Elementary institutions is an important responsibility of the
Nak'azdli Education Advisor.
Adult education and training are also a focus of this department.
The vision of the Nak'azdli Education Department is to:
-
provide quality, accessible,
community based advisory and support services as requested;
-
coordinate educational needs
based on comprehensive planning in order to address any issues and
concerns of member First Nations;
-
work independently and
collectively to support the success of Nak'azdli First Nations students,
schools, and communities.
