Income Assistance Program

The objectives of the social development program are:

 

- To assist persons living on reserves in maintaining a basic standard of living.

 

- To prevent dependency by developing individual and family strengths.

 

- To assist recipients to access services that will enhance their ability to assume primary

 

responsibility for their own affairs.

 

* Social Assistance is NOT an income. It is a last resort option meant to temporarily assist people in need.

Persons With Disabilities:

 

PWD benefits are issued to a client with a PWD designation and can only be done in house with the assistance of social development staff.

 

Pre-employment Training:

 

All employable income assistance recipients MUST attend pre-employment training. Nak'azdli Band, in conjuction with the College of New Caledonia, provide this training every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the learning hub in the Goodwin Building.
